Sign up for wood window repair workshops this fall
Oklahoma City’s’ Historic Preservation Commission, the State Historic Preservation Office and Preservation Oklahoma are partnering to offer two hands-on wood window repair workshops.
Window repair expert Bob Yapp will lead groups of participants through the process of cleaning and repairing wood windows in a historic home.
Two sessions are scheduled: a one-day workshop from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 16, and a two-day workshop from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 21-22.
Registration is required, and the workshop locations in central Oklahoma City will be provided when you sign up.
The one-day workshop is $15 ($5 for observers), and the two-day workshop is $30 ($10 for observers). The cost covers materials and refreshments, and full participants get a boxed lunch.
Participants should wear protective eye wear and a two-filter, half-face respirator with lead paint cartridges (purple filters). Be prepared for a full day of work and to get dirty.
