Six from Oklahoma County seek OSU veterinary medicine degrees

STILLWATER — Six Oklahoma County students are among the 88 members of the class of 2020 at Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences.

They area Michael Cieminski, of Oklahoma City, Darby Hanna, of Midwest City, and Pali Demuth, Claire Roberts, Tresha Swickey and Michelle Symczak, all of Edmond.

This semester, 13 men and 75 women officially began their journey to earn a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Oklahoma State’s veterinary college.

“As a land grant university, one of our core missions is to train the next generation of veterinari­ans,” said Dr. Chris Ross, professor and interim dean of the veterinary center.

The class of 2020 is composed of 58 Oklahoma residents and 30 students representi­ng Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Kansas, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Texas and Wisconsin.

Cieminski is the son of Max and Cindy Cieminski, of Oklahoma City.

Hanna is the daughter of Robert J. Hanna Jr., of Choctaw, and Kymberli Yancey, of Altus.

Demuth is the daughter of Thomas and Kellie Demuth, of Edmond.

Roberts is the daughter of John Roberts, of Yukon, and Joan Roberts, of Edmond.

Swickey is married to Brad Swickey, of Edmond.

Symczak is the daughter of Bruce and Jane Symczak, of Edmond.
