•The Dallas Genealogical Society will meet from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library, 1515 Young St., Dallas.

Glenn Kinkade will present “Perils, Paradoxes and Pitfalls in Probate Records.” Whether your ancestor died with or without a will, the probate records for the decedent may prove to be the most valuable records you can find.

However, these records can be misunderstood and may be scattered in many books and boxes in a courthouse. Interpreting the records can be confusing to a beginning genealogist.

Kinkade’s presentation will provide information to guide you through the challenges of probate records. For more information, go to dallasgenealogy.org or call (866) 968-2347.
