OKC district teacher is accused in sexual assault
Police arrested a Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps instructor at John Marshall High School on a sexual assault complaint after a female student said the man groped her.
Paul Bianchi, 52, of Edmond, was arrested Friday morning at the school, 12201 Portland Ave. He was released Saturday after posting $5,000 bail.
Bianchi is on paid administrative leave pending the investigation. He has been employed by Oklahoma City Public Schools since 2008.
“School administrators contacted Oklahoma City police immediately, and an internal investigation by Oklahoma City Public Schools was conducted as well with quick action taken by administrators to remove the instructor from the classroom,” a school district news release states.
The unidentified 16-year-old student told police she stayed after school on Wednesday for JROTC practice and was waiting for Bianchi to give her a ride home when he touched her inappropriately, according to a police report.
When the student asked the instructor “what he was doing” he “moved his hands off of her,” the report stated.
The student told police the instructor later turned off the lights and closed the classroom door. When the student asked him “what was going on” he replied “that he had better stop before he does something foolish,” the report stated.
Bianchi drove the student to her residence and dropped her off, she told police. He called her cellphone about 30 minutes later to “check on her,” the report stated.
