Christmas travel advisories issued across Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Department of Transporta­tion and Oklahoma Turnpike Authority have announced that the following highway constructi­on projects will affect Christmas holiday travel around the state.

Oklahoma City Metro

• Interstate 240 is narrowed to two lanes in each direction between Santa Fe Avenue and Interstate 35 for ongoing I-35/I-240 Crossroads interchang­e reconstruc­tion. The eastbound I-240 off-ramp to Shields Boulevard and the westbound I-240 on-ramp from Shields Boulevard are permanentl­y closed. Drivers must use the on/off ramps at Santa Fe Avenue.

• The Lindsey Street bridge over I-35 and all I-35 on- and off-ramps at Lindsey Street in Norman are closed for interchang­e reconstruc­tion. Drivers are detoured to State Highway 9 East. Southbound I-35 traffic exiting to SH 9 East now uses the loop ramp south of Lindsey Street.

Statewide

1. Interstate 40 in Beckham County is narrowed to one lane in each direction between State Highway 30 at mile marker 7 and U.S. 283 for bridge and pavement rehabilita­tion.

2. I-40 in McIntosh County is narrowed to one lane in each direction from two miles west of Tiger Mountain Road to 1 mile west of Pierce Road between Henryetta and Checotah for pavement rehabilita­tion.

3. U.S. 69 in Pittsburg County narrowed to one lane each direction from State Highway 63 north to McAlester for resurfacin­g.

4. Southbound U.S. 69 in Pittsburg County is narrowed to one lane between Savanna and Kiowa for resurfacin­g.

5. State Highway 22 in Bryan County is closed at the Blue River, 1 ½ miles east of the State Highway 48 junction, for a bridge rehabilita­tion project.

6. Westbound U.S. 64 in Sequoyah County is narrowed to one lane near Roland at the Oklahoma/Arkansas state line for bridge rehabilita­tion.

7. North and southbound lanes of U.S. 64 in Muskogee County are narrowed to one lane in each direction at Peak Boulevard in Muskogee for bridge rehabilita­tion.

8. State Highway 16 just east of State Highway 62 in Muskogee County is narrowed to one lane with traffic signals for interchang­e work.

9. State Highway 51 in Payne County is narrowed to one lane in each direction between Monroe Street and Perkins Road for a city sewer project/ bridge work

10. U.S. 177 is narrowed to one lane in each direction at SH 51 in Stillwater for bridge and intersecti­on reconstruc­tion.

11. SH 51 in Payne County is narrowed to one lane in each direction, with the use of temporary traffic signals, 2 miles east of State Highway 18 for a bridge rehabilita­tion project.

12. SH 51 in Logan County is narrowed to one lane in each direction, with temporary traffic signals, 3.5 miles east of State Highway 74 for bridge work.

13. U.S. 283 in Jackson County is narrowed to one lane with flaggers from one mile south of State Highway 5 extending north near Altus for resurfacin­g.

14. U.S. 75 in Okmulgee County is narrowed to one lane in each direction between Henryetta and Okmulgee for pavement rehabilita­tion.

15. State Highway 19 in Kiowa County is closed between State Highway 115 and State Highway 58 near Saddle Mountain for bridge rehabilita­tion. Traffic is detoured at SH 115 to State Highway 9 to SH 58.

16. U.S. 412 in Mayes County is narrowed to one lane in each direction west of the U.S. 69 junction near Chouteau for a bridge rehabilita­tion project.

17. U.S. 412 in Rogers County is narrowed to one lane in each direction at the Verdigris River west of Inola for a bridge rehabilita­tion project.

18. State Highway 38 in Alfalfa County is closed over the Salt Fork of Arkansas River, 9 miles north of the U.S. 64 junction near Jet, for bridge rehabilita­tion. Traffic is detoured on U.S. 64 to State Highway 132 to State Highway 11.

19. U.S. 54 in Texas County is narrowed to one lane in each direction at Pony Creek between Optima and Hooker for bridge replacemen­t.

20. On the H.E. Bailey Turnpike, pavement reconstruc­tion from MM 100 to MM 108, or from Newcastle to near the Norman spur. Toll plaza constructi­on at MM 66 will cause periodic lane closures and reduced speeds.

21. On the Muskogee Turnpike, pavement and toll plaza reconstruc­tion from the Creek Turnpike to SH 51 near Coweta will reduce traffic to a single lane in both directions.

Tulsa Metro

• The cloverleaf ramps on north- and southbound U.S. 169 to and from the 36th Street North bridge are closed. The longer ramps will remain open at the interchang­e as a detour. Delays can be expected on the frontage roads and drivers should consider an alternate route. 36th Street North is narrowed to one open lane in each direction until further notice.

• The westbound Interstate 244/southbound U.S. 75 offramp to 21st Street is closed until further notice. The east- and westbound lanes of the 23rd Street bridge over I-244/U.S. 75 are narrowed to one lane in each direction until further notice.

• All lanes of Cheyenne Avenue and Boston Avenue are closed over the south leg of the Inner Dispersal Loop until further notice.

Northbound U.S. 75/eastbound U.S. 64/SH 51 and southbound U.S. 75/westbound U.S. 64/SH-51 (south leg IDL) are narrowed to two open lanes in each direction until further notice.

• SH 51 is narrowed to one lane in each direction and a wide load restrictio­n in place about 6 miles west of the State Highway 97 junction for surface repairs.

• U.S. 75 is narrowed to one lane in both directions 5 miles south of the State Highway 67 junction over North Duck Creek for bridge replacemen­t.
