NORMAN — Chocolate truffles, chocolate cake, chocolate chili, you name it and this year’s Chocolate Festival sponsored by the Firehouse Art Center will likely provide it.

The annual event will be 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Marriott Conference Center and Hotel, 2801 State Highway 9 East.

The festival will feature culinary delights from an extensive list of restaurants, shops and bakeries. Already signed up to participate are Apple Tree Chocolate, Bedre Fine Chocolates, Eskimo Sno, Freddy’s Frozen Custard, La Baguette Bakery, Legend’s, Michelangelo’s, Natural Groceries and O’Connell’s Irish Pub. The list of vendors is expected to grow, organizers said.

Tickets are $50 for a premier one-hour tasting that begins at 10:30 a.m. and allows ticket holders 15 chocolate samples from vendors. Regular session tickets are $30 and allow for 10 tastings.

The Chocolate Festival is the Firehouse Art Center’s only fundraiser and membership drive. Founded 35 years ago, it has grown to be one of the largest festival attractions in the state, attracting up to 4,000 people last year.

The festival offers art activities for children, such as foil sculpting and cube painting. Children can partake of the art activities for free, with no need to buy tasting tickets. Instructors will be on hand to demonstrate and assist young artists, as well as discuss the Firehouse Art Center’s art programs for young and old alike.

Tickets purchased online will be held for pickup at the festival or can be picked up at the Firehouse Art Center, 444 S Flood Ave., before Jan. 27. Tickets also are available at the Firehouse Art Center.

For more information, call 329-4523 or visit the art center between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. To order tickets online go to normanfirehouse.com.
