Five Cowboys’ seniors El Reno shakes off rust in win in postseason bowls

Five Oklahoma State seniors will participat­e in three NFL Draft evaluation postseason football bowls this month.

Safety will be on the South Team at the Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. The game will take place on Jan. 28. Receiver

will play in this weekend’s East-West Shrine Game. All three will play for the West Team, and kickoff from St. Petersburg, Fla. is set for Saturday at 2 p.m. Receiver

will also play Saturday in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in Carson, Calif. Kickoff is 3:15 p.m., and Seales will play for the American Team.

NFL scouts will be present at each bowl game and will evaluate the participat­ing seniors both at the practices leading up to the game as well as the game itself.

Former Baylor Title IX official files complaint

Another former Title IX official at Baylor University has filed a complaint with federal civil rights officials accusing university officials of discrimina­tion and intimidati­on while she tried to investigat­e sexual assault reports.

Lyons brought to light the complaint, filed in April, on an episode of ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” that aired this week.

She said she resigned in November 2015 “because of Baylor’s noncomplia­nce” with Title IX and failure to investigat­e sexual assault complaints, especially those involving football players.

In a statement, Baylor officials denied Lyons’ allegation.

Crawford resigned in October 2016. Baylor has received a storm of criticism over claims it mishandled sexual assault cases for several years.

Del Rio to miss spring practice following shoulder surgery

SDSU gives Long contract extension

The Aztecs were 25th in the final Associated Press poll of the 2016 season.

The extension was announced Thursday, one week after the NFL’s Chargers announced they were moving to Los Angeles after 56 seasons in San Diego.

That leaves the Aztecs as the city’s top football team. Both Long and athletic director say they are up for the challenge of winning over fans angry with the Chargers’ move.
