Sooners sweep Houston

•Oklahoma softball prevailed in extra innings against Houston, 7-5, in the first game of its Saturday doublehead­er. The Sooners scored four runs on three hits in the top of the eighth inning to break a 3-3 tie. Houston added two runs in the bottom half of the inning, but OU pitcher Paige

Parker struck out Sarah Queen with one on base to end the game. Parker (2-1) finished with 10 strikeouts.

•It took extra innings for OU to win the second game, too. The Sooners topped the Cougars 2-1 in eight innings.

Caleigh Clifton’s single scored Kelsey Arnold for the go-ahead run. Oklahoma freshman Mariah Lopez recorded her first career win, striking out two and allowing no hits over three innings.
