Six OU, OSU women take Big 12 honors

A combined six in-state women’s college basketball players have received All-Big 12 recognition as voted on by league coaches, it was announced Wednesday.

Oklahoma State junior forward Kaylee Jensen headlined the group as the only player with first-team honors. She finished the regular season as the Big 12’s leader in scoring (18.3), rebounding (10.6) and double-doubles (16). Jensen was the only Cowgirl among those recognized.

A pair of Oklahoma standouts, senior guard Peyton Little and junior center Vionise Pierre-Louis, were named to the secondteam. Little led the Sooners with 48 made 3-pointers in addition to averaging 12.4 points per game. PierreLouis ranked eighth among league players in scoring (14.1) and rebounding (7.7).

Two more Sooners, senior guard Maddie Manning and junior guard Gabbi Ortiz, were given honorable mention recognition. Manning led the Big 12 with 2.1 steals per game. Ortiz’s assist-to-turnover ratio (2.8) was also a league best. OU also recorded in its eighth ever All-Big 12 Freshman honor with Chelsea Dungee, who started 16-of-30 games in her first season with a 7.2 scoring average.
