Baylor junior guard Freeman to transfer

Baylor junior guard

plans to transfer after graduating at the end of the spring semester.

Coach announced the move Tuesday, four days after the Bears’ season ended with a loss to South Carolina in the NCAA Sweet 16.

There was no indication of where Freeman plans to transfer. He would be eligible to play immediatel­y as a graduate transfer.

Mason named unanimous All-American

was a lastminute recruit for Kansas. He turned into the Jayhawks’ latest All-American.

The senior guard was the only unanimous selection to the 2016-17 AP All-America team Tuesday, receiving all first-team votes from the same 65-member national media panel that selects the weekly AP Top 25.

The rest of the All-America team includes guards of Villanova and of UCLA, plus forwards Purdue and North Carolina.

Giles going pro

Giles announced his decision Tuesday, and team spokesman says he plans to hire an agent. That means Giles won’t have the option to return for his sophomore year.

Sumner enters draft

announced on Tuesday that he’s entering the NBA draft even though he’s still recovering from a significan­t knee injury.

The sophomore tore his left ACL on Jan. 29 and had surgery. He was still using crutches last week while the Musketeers reached the Elite Eight before losing to Gonzaga.

Obi leaving Duke

the rugged 6-9 forward whose injuries prevented him from playing much during his three seasons at Duke, is leaving the program as a graduate transfer.

Duke announced Tuesday morning that Obi is expected to graduate this spring and he will continue his career at another school.

Duquesne hires Drambrot

is heading to Duquesne. Dambrot replaces

who was fired this month after going 60-97 with the Dukes, including 10-22 this season.

Dambrot spent 13 seasons at Akron, compiling a 305-139 record. The Zips won at least 20 games in 12 straight seasons and earned three NCAA Tournament bids under Dambrot.
