The former Oklahoma State golfer made three birdies on the front nine and was under par until the final hole when he had a double-bogey. Fowler is eight strokes behind Charley

Hoffman, but trails William McGirt by only four strokes for second.

Fowler, who is playing in a group with Russell Knox and Hideki Matsuyama, has a 12:19 p.m. tee time Friday.

T26. Alex Noren, +2 (74)

Noren, who played at Oklahoma State, fell behind early with four consecutiv­e bogeys on the fourth through seventh holes. He was able to move within range of contention after finishing his round with birdies on three of his final five holes.

Noren, who is playing in a group with Bernhard Langer and Patrick Reed, has a 9:23 a.m. tee time Friday.

T54. Jimmy Walker, +4 (76)

The Oklahoma City native was the final golfer on the course Thursday with a 1:03 p.m tee time. He bogeyed three of his first four holes, but settled down on the back nine with an one-over 37.

Walker, who is paired with Bubba Watson, has a 9:56 a.m. tee time Friday.

T75. Brad Dalke (a), +6 (78)

The Oklahoma sophomore struggled at the start as he bogeyed three of the first four holes. He was able to birdie the ninth hole and finished with 11 pars. Dalke is tied for second among the five amateurs and trails leading amateur Stewart

Hagestad by four strokes. Dalke, who is playing in a group with Ian Woosnam and

James Hahn, has an early 7:22 a.m. tee time Friday.
