Stash, a downtown art shop at 412 E Main St., will host live music, a vintage car club, local makers and “Water is Worth It,” a local children’s art show to celebrate conservation and Earth Day awareness, during the city’s monthly art walk.

The walk is from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Friday in downtown Norman and at local art galleries and museums.

Stash is collaborating with the University of Oklahoma’s Green Week Celebration to sponsor a fundraiser for the Norman Animal Welfare Center, which will have adoptable dogs on hand, as part of the art walk festivities.

The store also will host the Flower Power Local Market, along with Canadian River Cruisers vintage car club outside, the Norman Animal Welfare adoption trailer outside, and kid’s water-themed art inside the Annex, as well as live music provided by The Sunday Flyers and guests.

The Flower Power market will feature new and favorite vendors selling handcrafted and vintage items. Food trucks will be on site, and Coach’s Brewhouse will serve craft beers.

Stash’s featured artist, Jess Oh, explores symmetry with her designs, which will be on display inside the shop.

Also at the art walk, Mainsite Contemporary Art, 122 E Main, debuts the OU Master of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition, featuring 2017 MFA candidates Jiaxin Jiang, J.D. Reeves and Lucas Simmons. There also will be a memorial exhibition in tribute to art therapist and OU professor Joan Phillips, who passed away in February.

The Firehouse Art Center and VisitNorman will host a new exhibition, Photos of Everyday Art, during an opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. at 309 E Main. This is a collaborative exhibition between the two organizations, made up of artwork created by photography students at the Firehouse Art Center.

Earth Rebirth at 325 E Comanche St. will feature live music, children’s painting, seed planting, board games and a surprise giveaway.

The Fine Arts Library, 500 W Boyd St., will celebrate National Poetry Month with “Vernacular Songs & Spoken Words,” showcasing local songwriters and poets.

Thunderbird Clubhouse artists will have their work on display at Fusion Fitness & Yoga, 323 E Main.

The “Art of Recovery” event will include a raffle and artwork sale, along with a performance by Joie Johnson, snacks and beverages. All proceeds from sales will benefit Thunderbird Clubhouse.
