Astronomy Club in OKC to offer an inside look

The Oklahoma City Astronomy Club will celebrate Internatio­nal Astronomy Day on Saturday with an open house and novice night at Windsurfer’s Point at Lake Hefner.

Club members will set up telescopes and be on hand to assist novices with telescope operation beginning at 8 p.m. Windsurfer’s Point is just south of Hefner Road on Old Lakeshore Drive, at the northeast corner of the lake.

People interested in astronomy as a hobby can view the moon, Jupiter and other targets through member telescopes and learn about club events and activities.

Should inclement weather force cancellati­on, notice will be posted on the club website at OKCastrocl­ub.com.

The Oklahoma City Astronomy Club meets at 7 p.m. on the second Friday of the month at Science Museum Oklahoma, according to a news release.
