Midwest City offers debris pickup options
As cleanup continues from last week’s wind and rainstorm, Midwest City officials remind residents about two debris cleanup options.
Special bulk pickup. Upon customer request, a pickup can be arranged for excessive amounts of woody brush, such as tree limbs and trunks. Home dwellers must take the brush to the curb. All brush must be no longer than 8 feet and have a diameter of no more than 20 inches.
Call the public works department at 739-1066 to schedule a pickup. Special pickup days are Tuesday through Friday and the request must be made before 5 p.m. Monday. The fee is $55 per half-hour (minimum fee of $55) if the resident has had four or fewer bulk pickups this calendar year. If the resident has had more than four special bulk pickups, the charge will be at the Category II rate of $80 per half-hour.
People with temporary services and nonresidents can request a special pickup to be charged at the Category II rate. All fees for special pickups, except for those with temporary services and nonresidents, will be charged to the utility bill issued for the address at which the service is provided.
City compost facility. Residents can take woody brush, grass clippings, leaves, green waste and brush to the compost facility at 7429 NW 36. The specifications for woody brush are the same as with bulk pickup.
The facility is open to the public by appointment only from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. It is open from 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday with no appointment necessary.
To make an appointment, call 739-1056. Residents must bring most recent copy of Midwest City utility bill along with current driver’s license indicating address.
