KD sells more for less
Former Thunder forward goes backward on another home sale
Trouble rumbled again for Kevin Durant’s property investments.
The former Thunder forward just sold his specially remodeled, three-story, double-condo in Deep Deuce for $1.1 million — $400,000 less than he was asking.
That was after having to suck it up and list it last fall for $1.5 million — nearly $270,000 less than he paid for the two separate homes he remodeled to combine in 2013.
He paid another $1.3 million or so for the remodeling.
And the trimming he took on the 7,000-square-foot condo at 420 NE 2 was on top of a reduced price he accepted for his more traditional home in Gaillardia in March 2016.
Then, he took $925,000 for a home and guesthouse totaling 5,733 square feet that he paid $1,799,500 for in 2011. He had sold a portion of his Gaillardia lot for about $500,000 previously, however.
The condo wasn’t on the market long, considering the property type and its asking price, said Rhonda Bratton, the Churchill-Brown & Associates agent who had the listing.
“Two units combined to make for a unique urban living experience in The Hill,” she posted on RhondaBratton.com. “Unit 422 designed and updated for main living quarters with passageway into Unit 420 remodeled for entertaining. Billiard room is open to a large theater room on one level and the additional floors have optional bedroom, office or exercise areas with room size sauna. 4 CAR GARAGE.”
None of which amounts to much more than an accounting error for Durant, who will make about $26 million this year playing for the Golden State Warriors. Durant, reached Thursday through the Warriors front office, had no comment.
The buyer was 1839 W Main LLC, owned by Jim Irwin of Norman. The LLC owns commercial property in Oklahoma City and a Zaxby’s restaurant at 1839 W Main St. in Norman. Irwin also owns Insurance Solutions by Irwin Agency, 712 Wall St. in Norman.
Irwin could not be reached Thursday.
