OKC wins again

Nine walks and Max Muncy’s homer helped Oklahoma City beat El Paso 4-3 on Monday afternoon. The Dodgers won the final three contests of the fourgame series.

EL PASO, TEXAS — Willie Calhoun scored on a groundout in the first inning, leading the Oklahoma City Dodgers to a 4-3 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas on Monday.

Brandon Morrow got Jabari Blash to hit into a double play with a runner on first to end the game for his sixth save of the season.

The run by Calhoun, part of a four-run inning, gave the Dodgers a 1-0 lead before Max Muncy hit a three-run home run later in the inning.

After El Paso scored a run in the sixth on a home run by Jose Pirela, the Chihuahuas cut into the deficit in the seventh inning when Blash hit a two-run home run. Oklahoma City starter Fabio Castillo (3-2) picked up the win after allowing four hits over five scoreless innings. Opposing starter Tyrell Jenkins (3-4) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game after allowing four runs and seven hits over five innings.

Oklahoma City took advantage of some erratic El Paso pitching, drawing a season-high nine walks in its victory.

The Dodgers clinched the series with Monday’s win.

Oklahoma City fell 16-8 in Friday’s opener, but bounced back for a 7-3 win on Saturday and 5-4 win on Sunday.

Up next, the Dodgers head to Albuquerque. The series opener begins at 8:05 p.m. on Tuesday.
