Moore offers summer family fun

The city's parks department is planning outdoor family fun for the summer at Central Park, 700 S Broadway.

Rock the Park will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Central Park's MultiPurpo­se Pavilion and Amphitheat­er. The band Superfreak is scheduled to perform. Food trucks and inflatable­s will be part of the evening.

The Dive-In Movie family film program which will be at The Station Aquatic Center, which is part of Moore's Central Park. The first movie will be "Moana" on June 10. The second movie will be "Finding Dory" on July 21. Activities will start at 8:30 p.m., and the movies will begin at dusk.

There will be a $5 per person fee for each DiveIn Movie program, which includes swimming. No outside food or drinks will be allowed.

Every Friday night in June, the Moore Public Library will sponsor its Summer Nights Concert Series. The concerts are scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. at the Multi-Purpose Pavilion and Amphitheat­er.

Scheduled bands are Banana Seat on Friday, Black Water Bridge on June 9, Boulevard Brass on June 16 and Nicnos on June 23. For more informatio­n on the series, call the Moore Public Library at 7935100.

The first Movie in the Park was Friday, when "Star Wars Rogue One," was shown. The next scheduled Movie in the Park film will be "The Secret Life of Pets" on Aug. 11 at the Multi-Purpose Pavilion and Amphitheat­er. There is no admission fee.

Activities are set to begin at 7 p.m. Free popcorn will be provided. Candy and drinks will be for sale. Moviegoers are encouraged to bring folding chairs and/or blankets, and the move will start at dusk.

Moore Assistant City Manager Todd Jenson said this will be the second year for the movies and bands at Central Park.

"Both are great events for the family," Jenson said.
