Three people killed in separate crashes

Three people are dead in separate roadway incidents, authoritie­s report.

Mark Schwartz Jr., 27

Mark Schwartz Jr., 27, of Fulton, Maryland, was dead at the scene of a crash at 2:05 p.m. Sunday on the Indian Nations Turnpike about 11 miles northwest of Hanna in McIntosh County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.

A passenger, Leanna Pettis, 23, of Bowling Green, Missouri, was taken to a Tulsa hospital and admitted for treatment of injuries.

Schwartz was driving north and drove off the roadway and hit a guardrail. It is not known if he wore a seat belt.

Carlos Garcia, 25, and Regina Odle, 43

Police have released the names of two people who died after a motorcycle and car collision early Friday.

Garcia was driving a motorcycle north on MacArthur Boulevard when a car turned in front of him, said Fire Chief Stephen Coy.

Both vehicles caught fire. Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the car suffered minor burns, while the driver of the car was uninjured. Odle, a passenger on the motorcycle, also was injured. When police and firefighte­rs arrived on the scene around 12:50 a.m., they extinguish­ed the flames and took those injured to Integris Baptist Medical Center, where Odle later died, police said.

Coy said the occupants of the car wore seat belts and the motorcycle riders did not wear helmets.
