Blazek, Cooper push Sky Sox past Dodgers

Garrett Cooper had four hits and two RBI, and Michael Blazek allowed just five hits over 7 2/3 innings as the Colorado Springs Sky Sox topped the Oklahoma City Dodgers 5-2 on Sunday.

Blazek (1-1) picked up the win after he struck out five while allowing two runs.

Oklahoma City tied the game 2-2 in the third after Willie Calhoun hit an RBI single, scoring Kyle Farmer.

After Colorado Springs added a run in the third on a double by Cooper, the Sky Sox added to their lead in the seventh inning when Kyle Wren hit an RBI single, driving in Blazek.

The Sky Sox tacked on another run in the eighth when Cooper hit an RBI single, bringing home Ryan Cordell.

Trevor Oaks (3-2) went six innings, allowing three runs and five hits in the Pacific Coast League game. He also struck out six and walked one. WeiChung Wang pitched 1 scoreless innings for his first save of the season.

Farmer doubled twice and singled, driving in a run and also scoring one for the Dodgers.

Colorado Springs improved to 7-3 against Oklahoma City this season. The two face each other at 7:40 p.m. on Monday for the third game of the fourgame PCL series.
