OKC tries to regroup

The Memphis Redbirds snapped the Oklahoma City Dodgers’ six-game winning streak late Wednesday night. Did the Dodgers rebound Thursday and keep pace with first-place Colorado Springs?

MEMPHIS, TENN. — Patrick Wisdom hit two home runs, and Marco Gonzales allowed just three hits over seven innings as the Memphis Redbirds topped the Oklahoma City Dodgers 8-2 on Thursday.

Gonzales allowed two runs while striking out six and walking three to get the win.

Memphis went up 3-1 in the second after Wisdom hit a solo home run, his first of the night.

Memphis added a run in the fourth when Todd Cunningham hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Breyvic Valera. The Dodgers then cut into the deficit in the fifth inning when Alex Verdugo hit an RBI single, bringing home Tim Locastro.

Dodgers starter Wilmer Font pitched four innings, allowing seven runs and 10 hits. He also struck out two and walked two.

•Harrison Bader hit a two-run home run and had two hits, and Luke Weaver hurled six scoreless innings as the Memphis Redbirds defeated the Oklahoma City Dodgers 7-2 on Wednesday.

Weaver allowed three hits while striking out six and walking two to get the win.

Memphis started the scoring in the first inning when Chad Huffman hit a two-run home run.

After Memphis added a run in the seventh on a Rangel Ravelo single, the Dodgers cut into the deficit in the eighth inning when O'Koyea Dickson scored on a single and Alex Verdugo scored on a stolen base.

Trevor Oaks pitched six innings, allowing two runs and five hits to take the loss. He also struck out two and walked one. Memphis reliever Josh Lucas gave up two runs in two innings and recorded his sixth save of the season.
