Heat waives Bosh

For the first time since the Miami Heat hurriedly scrambled to sign him to a five-year, $118 million contract in the wake of losing LeBron James to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2014 offseason, Chris

Bosh again is a free agent. Amid league-wide concern about the blood clots that have had him away from the game since February 2016, and with salary-cap space having dried up around the league, Bosh cleared waivers at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Spurs sign Gay

The San Antonio Spurs have signed veteran forward Rudy Gay.

Gay averaged 18.7 points last season in Sacramento but was limited to 30 games before rupturing his left Achilles tendon in January and having surgery a few days later.

Olynyk signs with Heat

Kelly Olynyk has agreed to sign with the Miami Heat.

Agent Greg Lawrence confirmed the decision to The Associated Press on Thursday night. ESPN reported it would be a four-year deal worth in excess of $50 million.

Notre Dame, Arkansas schedule home-andhome

There’s a first time for everything.

This first time is scheduled for Sept. 12, 2020, in South Bend, Ind., where Notre Dame will meet Arkansas on a football field.

The Razorbacks are one of four SEC teams the Irish have never faced. Notre Dame will return the favor by playing in Fayettevil­le, Ark., on Oct. 4, 2025.

Dirk, Mavs agree to deal

Dirk Nowitzki has a deal with the Dallas Mavericks that sets him up to join Kobe Bryant as the only players to spend 20 seasons with one NBA franchise.

Nowitzki and the Mavericks have agreed on a two-year, $10 million contract that carries a team option in the second season, a person with knowledge of the deal said Thursday on condition of anonymity because a deal hasn’t been announced.

KD to release new movie

Kevin Durant has another movie coming out next week.

Durant has dropped the trailer for “Still KD,” which comes out Tuesday and which the Golden State star says is about “a look inside the road to the championsh­ip.”

Grizzlies to retire Randolph’s jersey

Zach Randolph is one of the many NBA faces changing places as a free agent this summer, going from Memphis to Sacramento.

And the Grizzlies couldn’t have responded in classier fashion.

An open letter from Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace and business operations president Jason Wexler to Randolph on Thursday revealed that his No. 50 jersey is being retired by the team, part of many tributes to his time in Memphis.

FC Dallas re-signs Barriors

FC Dallas has re-signed midfielder Michael Barrios through the 2019 season with options for 2020-21.

Barrios’ deal was announced Thursday, about a month after the 26-year-old set a franchise record with three assists in a 6-2 win over Real Salt Lake. Barrios is tied for the MLS lead with 10 assists and has 17 goals and 14 assists in 76 appearance­s.
