Nathan Poppe reviews Marvel’s latest comic book adaptation, “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”

Now that SpiderMan is coming “home” in his latest film, Marvel is focusing on his hometown and supporting cast in the new series “Spectacular Spider-Man.”

In the series, written by Chip Zdarsky and drawn by Adam Kubert, the stories will be set primarily in New York and will focus on Peter Parker and his friends, family and colleagues.

“With this book, we’re using the same SpiderMan in-continuity but shifting the spotlight back to his NYC environment and supporting cast,” Zdarsky told Entertainment Weekly.

“But even though we’re pushing to make it a more personal book, we’re still going to have big adventures with ramifications that’ll be felt in his other books.”
