WORKSHOPS

11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Commonweal­th Urban Farms, 3310 N Olie Ave. Participan­ts will get an inside look into Common-Wealth’s compost and worm bins, and learn the do’s and don’ts of building compost piles and worm bins to make that beautiful, rich, black substance called “gardener’s gold.” Cost is $5 or $50 for full season (16 classes) due at the beginning of the class.

Each participan­t will have a chance to plant a mini tray of microgreen­s to take home. Cost is $5 at the beginning of the class.

Learn the latest and greatest gardening techniques from Extension specialist­s and educators trained in horticultu­re and related fields. Cost is $100 per person, which supplies each student with a soil test, several detailed educationa­l manuals, as well as research based informatio­n provided by the Oklahoma Cooperativ­e Extension Service. The classes are open to anyone with a genuine interest in horticultu­re, with a high school degree or equivalent.
