Workshop to offer tips on library research

Laura Martin, director of the Research Division of the Oklahoma History Center, will present

“Researchin­g a Library” at the Oklahoma Genealogic­al Society meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Oklahoma History Center Research Library, 800 Nazih Zuhdi Drive.

Monthly programs are free for members and nonmembers. Membership dues help the society to provide resources for the genealogic­al community of Oklahoma so attendees are encouraged to join the society.

•The Computer Club of Oklahoma City’s Tricks and Tips group will meet at 10 a.m. July 13 in Room 201, 3000 United Founders Blvd. Presentati­ons include topics related to tips and tricks in using computers and other electronic devices. The meeting also provides an opportunit­y to discuss common computer interests with other members.

•The Federation of Genealogic­al Societies 2017 Conference, “Building Bridges To The Past,” will be Aug. 30 to Sept. 2 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvan­ia.

Sessions cover a wide array of topics from many of the nation’s top family history experts. Programs will provide informatio­n to help researcher­s strengthen their research skills no matter what the level or area of expertise.

Speakers will include D. Joshua Taylor, Paula Stuart-Warren, Curt B. Witcher, Amy Johnson Crow, Cindy Ingle, Rick Sayre, J. Mark Lowe and Maureen Taylor.
