Patrons will be checking their bets and firing up the dice for the ninth annual Dealing for Dreams at 6 p.m. July 29 at the Cox Convention Center, 1 Myriad Gardens, benefiting MakeA-Wish Oklahoma.

Between 500 and 600 attendees will have the opportunity to try their hands at Las Vegas-style table games including roulette, blackjack, poker and craps, said Dealing for Dreams organizer Brent Mills. The night also will include prize giveaways, including a grand prize trip to Las Vegas.

“We’ll have about 55 table games,” Mills said. “With entry you get $300 in casino cash. For an extra $20, you can get an extra $300 (in cash to play at the tables).”

The event moves to the Cox Convention Center this year to accommodate more patrons. With the move will come a new lighted dance floor and an expanded VIP area, featuring a separate bar with additional drink options, an additional food area with exclusive items, private gaming tables, a lounge and giveaways. Access to the VIP area is open to Strength Sponsors who donate $3,000, or Hope Sponsors who donate $7,500 or more.

Paseo Grill has been chosen to cater the event.

Organizers hope to raise $30,000 to fulfill the wishes of four children.

“The average price for a wish is around $7500 … the most popular wish is going to Disney World,” Mills said. “Our goal is to always raise enough funds to grant four or more wishes. Hopefully we raise enough to grant more than that.”

To date, Dealing for Dreams has raised over $175,000 for Make-AWish Oklahoma.

“Our partnership with Dealing for Dreams means so much to all of us here at Make-A-Wish,” said Kiyana Dan, wish

coordinator with MakeA-Wish Oklahoma. “To our staff, it means we are not alone in our efforts to grant wishes to all of the children with life-threatening medical conditions in our state. To our volunteers, it means a great volunteer opportunity to have fun with OKC’s greatest network of supporters. And to our families, it means that even just one more child and one more family can enjoy a wish experience and the hope, strength and joy the (children) need when they need it most.”

Tickets are $100, which includes food, drinks and casino cash to be used for entertainment purposes only. Ticket and sponsorship information is available at DealingforDreams.org. Attendees must be 21 or over and tickets must be purchased before the event.
