The Edmond Genealogical

Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Edmond Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1315 E 33, Edmond.

Debra Spindle with the Oklahoma History Center will present the program “Researching Church Records.”

The program will include information on baptisms and christenings, marriages, burials, confirmations, communions, church rosters and membership removal.

Records available also include financial records, Sunday school lists and church-related newsletters.

Record information can vary according to denomination and the local church recorder. Researchers should be aware that not all information can be found online, Spindle says. She also will provide information on how to locate church records available at

the Oklahoma Historical Society research library.
