Segedin leads Dodgers to victory

Rob Segedin hit a three-run home run in the first inning, leading the Oklahoma City Dodgers to a 5-4 win over the Omaha Storm Chasers in the second game of a doublehead­er on Sunday.

The home run by Segedin, part of a four-run inning, tied the game 3-3 before Henry Ramos hit an RBI single later in the inning.

The Dodgers tacked on another run in the fourth when Bobby Wilson hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Ramos.

Omaha saw its comeback attempt come up short after Frank Schwindel hit an RBI single, driving in Paulo Orlando in the fifth inning to cut the Oklahoma City lead to 5-4.

Omaha missed a scoring opportunit­y in the second, when Orlando hit into a double play with the bases loaded to end the inning.

Dodgers starter Eddie Gamboa (7-7) picked up the win despite allowing four runs and eight hits over five innings. Opposing starter Pedro Fernandez (2-1) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game after a rough outing in which he allowed four runs and four hits over three innings. Jeremy Bleich pitched two scoreless innings for his third save of the season.

Storm Chasers shut out Dodgers

Andres Machado and Eric Stout combined for a shutout as the Omaha Storm Chasers topped the Oklahoma City Dodgers 3-0 in the first game of a doublehead­er on Sunday.

Machado (2-2) went 5 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing six hits while striking out seven and walking three to get the win. Dodgers starter Brock Stewart (0-1) pitched four innings, allowing three runs and eight hits in the Pacific Coast League game. He also struck out five and walked one. Stout pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings for his fifth save of the season.

All three runs for Omaha came in the first inning, when Frank Schwindel hit an RBI single and Cam Gallagher hit a two-run double.

Andre Ethier doubled and singled for the Dodgers. The home side was held off the scoreboard for the ninth time this season, while the Omaha staff recorded its ninth shutout of the year.

Dodgers blanked in Kershaw's start

Terrance Gore tripled and singled, and Jake Kalish allowed just five hits over seven innings as the Omaha Storm Chasers topped the Oklahoma City Dodgers 4-0 Saturday night in front of a sellout crowd of 13,106.

Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw, on an injury rehab assignment, went five innings, allowing one run and two hits while striking out eight in the Pacific Coast League game.

Kalish struck out eight and walked two to pick up the win.
