Mr. Allison Robert Henderson, age 99, born on Dec. 12, 1917, passed on Sept. 7, 2017. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Henderson graduated Britton High School and attended The University of Oklahoma, where he studied pre-med. He was a retired firefighte­r with the Oklahoma City Fire Department and served his country honorably in the United States Navy Coast Guard during WWII. He was also a retiree of Union Camp Corporatio­n as Chief of Fire Protection in Savannah, GA.

Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by sisters, Oma Emmitt and Thelma Sue Gilley; and brothers, Floyd, Frank, and Bill Henderson.

Funeral service was held 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rubin Smith and the Rev. Dan Rosser officiatin­g, music and vocals provided by Karen Buchanan and Loy Jarrett. Military graveside service followed in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Rites by the North GA Honor Guard. Deacons of the Church served as pallbearer­s.

Survivors include wife of 68 years, Marian Porter Henderson, of Kennesaw, GA; daughters and son-inlaw, Jeanie H. Miller, of Oklahoma City; Diana H. Brantley, of Kennesaw, GA; Donna & Roger Hefner, of Acworth, GA; and Bobbi H. Victor, of Smyrna, GA; seven grandchild­ren; 18 greatgrand­children; five greatgreat-grandchild­ren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Cemetery Fund in memory of Mr. Henderson.
