Green Bambino, Basal Baby partner up
Green Bambino and Basal Baby launched a new partnership this month, the companies announced.
Basal Baby, historically an online, subscription-based retailer, offers products for newborns. Its owner, Michelle Briggs, said her company’s partnership with Green Bambino in Oklahoma City is designed to both better promote its products and to support the local retailer.
The product line also fits in with Green Bambino’s environmentally responsible niche, said Morgan Harris, its owner.
“We support Basal Baby’s mission of ‘less but better’ in all baby purchases,” Harris said.
Green Bambino, at 5120 N Shartel Ave., offers products ranging from cloth diapers to car seats.

Program gets unsold food to Food Bank
Starbucks, Feeding America and the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma have launched a FoodShare program in Oklahoma, they’ve announced.
Starbucks said it has set a goal to rescue 100 percent of unsold food each night from its 21 stores in the Oklahoma City area to donate to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. Food donations include breakfast sandwiches, panini, bistro boxes and salads.
To date, nearly 13,000 pounds of food have been donated in Oklahoma, which equates to more than 10,700 meals for children, families and seniors facing hunger, representatives of the company and the organizations said.
Love’s heats up donations to hospitals
Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores will donate proceeds from all 24-ounce hot beverages it sells on Friday to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, officials said.
Also, it will sell those beverages for just $1 a cup that day, it’s announced.
“Love’s has supported CMN Hospitals for 18 years, and donating money from coffee and cappuccino sales is another way we can keep supporting a great organization while giving customers something they love,” said Jenny Love Meyer, vice president of communications for Love’s.
Love’s annual campaign to raise funds for network hospitals began Aug. 26, and officials said it is more than halfway to its 2017 campaign goal of $2.6 million. Donations collected at Love’s locations go to the partner hospital in that community to help local children. Since 1999, Love’s has raised more than $18 million for the nonprofit.
