CROSS COUNTRY RUNNERS OF THE WEEK
Girls Cross Country
Annabel White, Westmoore In a race of more than 580 runners, the sophomore runner finished fifth overall with a time of 20:04.8 in the Chile Pepper Festival girls open 5K in Arkansas. White ran the best time of any girl from Oklahoma in the race and helped Westmoore finish in second place during the open 5K.
Boys Cross Country
Trevor Sallee, Guthrie Finishing with a time of 16:58.6, Sallee took home 10th place in the 81st annual Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater.
Norman girls and boys finish high at Chile Pepper
Lead by senior runner Ansel Pendley-Griffin for the boys and junior runner Sophia Maag for the girls, Norman finished third and sixth respectively during the “El Caliente 5K” at the Chile Pepper Festival race in Arkansas last weekend.
Pendley-Griffin finished third overall for the boys with a time of 15:33:9 while Maag finished 11th with a time of 18:35:9
Deer Creek (11th overall), Mustang (21st overall) and Casady (27th) were the other three teams from the Oklahoma City area to finish in the top 30 on the boys side.
For the girls, Deer Creek (19th overall) and Mustang (23rd overall) were the two schools to finish top 30.
Impressive showing for Edmond North at Cowboy Jamboree
Thanks to a ninth place finish by Maddie Medina and an 11th place finish by Kiran Chakravarty, the Edmond North girls team finished second overall in Class 6A and 5A at the Cowboy Jamboree last Saturday.
Medina finished with a time 21:05.4 WhileChakravarty finished with a time of 21.28.4 for North.
The North boys finished fourth overall at the Jamboree after Keegan Myers and Parker Jackson finished 15th and 26th overall, part of four Edmond North runners to finish in the top 40 overall.
