Panera continues breast cancer fight

Panera Bread invites its customers to fight breast cancer by eating a Pink Ribbon bagel this month.

A spokespers­on said the restaurant will donate 25 cents from each Pink Ribbon bagel sale during the month to the Susan G. Komen Central and Western Oklahoma Affiliate.

On Oct. 13, all proceeds from the bagel’s sales will be donated to the organizati­on. Sue Stees, of Tulsa — one of Panera Bread’s first franchisee­s — created the Pink Ribbon Bagel in 2001.

The bagel features cherry chips, dried cherries and cranberrie­s, vanilla, honey and brown sugar, and it can be ordered online at komencentr­alwesterno­k.org, or at panerabrea­d.com.

Potbelly Sandwich Shop opens in OKC

Potbelly Sandwich Shop opened an Oklahoma City location at 13012 N Pennsylvan­ia Ave. this week.

A spokesman said Potbelly offers sandwiches plus salads, soups, cookies and milkshakes.

Food Bank receives Walmart grant

The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma received a $46,000 grant from the Walmart Foundation’s state giving program to purchase a new refrigerat­ed trailer, an organizati­on executive said.

The executive said more than 100,000 low-income Oklahomans will receive fresh food thanks to the new equipment.

“We are grateful for Walmart’s generosity and commitment in helping us fight hunger in Oklahoma,” said Katie Fitzgerald, CEO of the Regional Food Bank. “Because of this grant, we are able to provide more nutritious food, like fresh fruits and vegetables, to Oklahomans with inconsiste­nt access to food.”

The Walmart Foundation’s state giving program supports organizati­ons across the U.S. by awarding grants that have a long-lasting, positive impact on communitie­s, a Walmart spokesman said.

Ross Dress for Less opens 3 stores

Ross Dress for Less is opening three new stores in northeast Oklahoma on Saturday.

In Tulsa, a Ross will open in the Crossing Oaks Shopping Center at S Memorial and E 71st. In Bartlesvil­le, a Ross will open in the Silver Lake Village Shopping Center at Adams Boulevard and Silver Lake Road. In Broken Arrow, Ross will open in The Shops at Broken Arrow at Broken Arrow Expressway and 9th.

Ross offers apparel, accessorie­s, footwear, and home fashions at 20- to 60-percent savings off department and specialty store regular prices. The store openings are part of the retailer’s plan to open 70 new locations during the year.

New PDQ location opens on Sunday

PDQ is opening a new location in Oklahoma City on Sunday at 14215 N Pennsylvan­ia Ave.

The restaurant offers seasonal bowls, premium sandwiches and unique sides, plus its chicken tenders, homemade sauces and dressings, hand-tossed salads and milkshakes.

Pioneer Woman has new bedding line

The Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond introduced a new bedding line, a spokesman has announced.

The bedding line builds upon Drummond’s kitchenwar­e collection and features more than 100 items including shams, quilts, bed sheets, pillow cases and decorative pillows at prices ranging from about $20 to $100.

It debuted Wednesday and is being sold exclusivel­y on walmart.com and on hayneedle.com.
