Threats to bomb businesses, kill employees, lead to arrest
A 29-year-old man accused of texting bomb threats and threatening to kill employees was arrested Thursday, Oklahoma City police report.
About 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to People Ready, a temporary employment agency, where an employee reported Christopher Devilion Jackson had become “irate” after she told him over the phone he was suspended. After he yelled and swore at the employee, her supervisor told Jackson he was fired, according to a police report.
About an hour after the phone call, Jackson sent a text message to the company saying he had placed explosives in the business and another branch and would be “blowing both businesses up tomorrow,” according to a police report.
In another message sent shortly after, reports show Jackson said, “Paddock ain’t got (expletive) on me,” referring to Stephen Paddock, 64, who authorities said opened fire on to a crowd at a Las Vegas country music festival from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel and casino last Sunday.
Jackson had previously gone to the Bethany branch of the business several days before and caused a disturbance, which led to his suspension.
Police also said Jackson sent a threatening message on Monday, in which he said “gimmie my or imma kill every worker at every branch,” according to the police report.
Officers searched both businesses but found nothing suspicious.
Jackson was arrested by Bethany police on Thursday and booked into the Oklahoma County jail.
He is being held on a number of complaints, including threatening to perform an act of violence and making a bomb threat or conveying information known to be false, according to court records.
