John Marshall running back Devonte Lee announced he will play college football at Nevada. Lee turned down offers from Abilene Christian, Grambling, Montana, Navy and North Texas.

Devonte Lee is taking his highlight-reel running ability west.

John Marshall’s star running back announced late Sunday night on his Twitter page that he has committed to Nevada, joining former Oklahoma co-offensive coordinator Jay Norvell.

Lee, at 5-feet-10 and 220 pounds, is ranked No. 26 on The Oklahoman’s Super 30 rankings of the state’s top college recruits in the 2018 class.

A wrecking ball at running back, Lee is already up to 1,132 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns in six games. He’s also added kick return duties this season, which has led to multiple touchdowns.

For his career, Lee is up to 6,181 rushing yards and 82 rushing TDs.

Lee chose Nevada over offers from Abilene Christian, Grambling State, Liberty, Montana, Navy, North Texas and South Dakota State.

Washington pulls away late from Dibble

Washington coach Brad Beller wanted to put the game away, so he turned to his powerful rushing attack.

Leading Dibble by just one entering the fourth, Washington’s offensive line took over and Tyler Stuever scored on a 39-yard run. The Warriors scored four times in the final 12 minutes for a 48-20 victory on Friday.

“That explosion was really started because of our offensive line and Tyler’s big run,” Beller said. “I felt like the way that we played in the fourth quarter resembled what we did in the first quarter.”

Washington had built a 21-7 lead in the first half before allowing Dibble to slowly work its way back into the game.

Then Stuever scored. Two turnovers led to TD runs by Logan Clemence and Lance Spaulding. Shane Spaulding iced the game with a pick-six.

Stuever finished with 202 yards and two touchdowns.
