Paranormal folk opera to haunt Paseo

-

In time for the Halloween season, “Gallow Walkers,” a new paranormal folk opera, will be performed at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19-20 and Oct. 26-28 at Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park on Paseo, 2920 Paseo.

Written by Oklahoma singersongwriter Michael Todd, “Gallow Walkers” tells the twisted tale of a hangman/ werewolf and a bordello singer/vampire using a combination of silent film, musical theater and circus elements.

It is intended for mature audiences and includes suggestive dialogue, infrequent coarse language, sexual situations and moderate violence.

The show stars local favorites Todd, Jennifer Teel, Mateja Govich, Chelcy Harrell, Ben Harrell, Amanda Fortney and John Rouse.

“Gallow Walkers” is directed by Michael Scott Gordon, choreographed by Hui Cha Poos and designed by Meghan Buchanan.

Part of the proceeds for the October performances benefit Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door or at www. michaeltoddmusic. com.
