La Quinta completes renovations
Irving, Texas-based La Quinta Holdings Inc. said it has completed millions of dollars in renovations to La Quinta Inn & Suites locations at 4829 Northwest Expressway and 930 Ed Noble Drive in Norman.
All guest rooms and common areas have been updated with a contemporary design that includes new furniture and linens, flooring, artwork, lighting and wall coverings. The lobbies have new check-in counters, seating areas and a communal gathering table with charging stations where people can connect.
A Bright Side Market has been added, offering snacks, quick meals, sundries and personal care items. Complimentary breakfast is served each morning. Fitness centers were expanded and updated.
Home2 Suites opens Tinker location
MIDWEST CITY — Home2 Suites by Hilton, part of Hilton’s All Suites portfolio, has opened Home2 Suites by Hilton OKC Midwest City Tinker AFB at 1820 Center Drive. Owned and managed by K.A.R.S. Investments LLC, the hotel offers all-suite accommodations with fully equipped kitchens and modular furniture.
The hotel also features complimentary internet, inviting communal spaces, and amenities such as Spin2 Cycle, a combined laundry and fitness area, Home2 MKT for grab-and-go items, and the Inspired Table, a complimentary daily breakfast. The hotel is pet friendly and has an indoor heated saline pool, fire pit and grill area.
Historical society seeks nominations
The Oklahoma Historical Society State Historic Preservation Office is accepting nominations for its 2018 awards program.
Eligible are individuals, businesses, government agencies and organizations contributing to preservation through rehabilitation-restoration projects, archaeological site protection, field and archival research, publications and public programming. Previous award recipients are featured at www. okhistory.org/shpo/shpoawards.htm.
The awards program includes the Shirk Memorial Award for Historic Preservation and the Citation of Merit. The Shirk Memorial Award recognizes historic preservation programs or activities that have had statewide impact. The Citation of Merit highlights noteworthy accomplishments in historic preservation at the state or local level.
The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. Dec. 1. The organization accepts nominations in either electronic or hard copy format. Tour to showcase savvy kitchens
NICHOLS HILLS — The Oklahoma County Medical Society Alliance presents a tour showcasing some of the city’s most savvy kitchens on Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at six Nichols Hills homes.
Proceeds will support programs of the benefactors this year, ITN and Teen Recovery Solutions. Also on the tour will be a Starbucks coffee bar, raffle and cooking demonstrations at Culinary Kitchen.
Tour homes are at 2609 Dorchester Drive, Sponsored by Integris; 2605 Dorchester Drive, sponsored by American Fidelity; 1812 W Wilshire Blvd.; 1808 Devonshire; 1908 Bedford Drive; 1127 Hemstead Place. An additional stop will be Culinary Kitchen, 7222 N Western Ave.
