Writer’s conference is planned this weekend
The fifth annual Write Well Sell Well Writer’s Conference is set for Friday and Saturday at Westmoore Community Church, 12609 S Western Ave.
The conference is designed to connect writers with professional writers and editors for guidance on how to successfully hone their craft. The event will begin Friday with registration at 8:30 a.m. and continue to 4:50 p.m. Saturday’s activities will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pre-teen and teen tracks are available on Saturday for young writers wishing to sharpen their writing skills.
The event was started by three award-winning authors, Rene Gutteridge, Melanie Hemry and Cheri Fuller, who wanted to help individuals learn not only the craft of writing but how to get their book ideas published. In addition to the sessions for adults, pre-teen and teen sessions will be offered for youths.
Registration costs range from $99 to $299, plus a registration fee.
Speakers include: Jim Hinch, senior editor at Guideposts Magazine; Alice Crider, senior acquisitions and development editor for David C. Cook Publishers; Christopher Maselli, digital marketer and awardwinning author; Debb Hackett, former BBC radio journalist, speechwriter and coach; and Robin Patchen, an award-winning multi-published author.
