Writer’s conference is planned this weekend

The fifth annual Write Well Sell Well Writer’s Conference is set for Friday and Saturday at Westmoore Community Church, 12609 S Western Ave.

The conference is designed to connect writers with profession­al writers and editors for guidance on how to successful­ly hone their craft. The event will begin Friday with registrati­on at 8:30 a.m. and continue to 4:50 p.m. Saturday’s activities will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pre-teen and teen tracks are available on Saturday for young writers wishing to sharpen their writing skills.

The event was started by three award-winning authors, Rene Gutteridge, Melanie Hemry and Cheri Fuller, who wanted to help individual­s learn not only the craft of writing but how to get their book ideas published. In addition to the sessions for adults, pre-teen and teen sessions will be offered for youths.

Registrati­on costs range from $99 to $299, plus a registrati­on fee.

Speakers include: Jim Hinch, senior editor at Guideposts Magazine; Alice Crider, senior acquisitio­ns and developmen­t editor for David C. Cook Publishers; Christophe­r Maselli, digital marketer and awardwinni­ng author; Debb Hackett, former BBC radio journalist, speechwrit­er and coach; and Robin Patchen, an award-winning multi-published author.
