TECHNOLOGY BRIEFS i2E Inc leads investment round for Digital Six

Oklahoma’s i2E Inc. recently led a $1.34 million investment round in Digital Six Laboratori­es, Inc., an Oklahoma City-based developer of engineered wireless software and components for commercial and industrial markets.

Digital Six Labs’ premier product is the Whisker. ioTM, which incorporat­es proprietar­y, long-range technology that gives devices such as utility meters or manufactur­ing equipment the ability to wirelessly transmit critical informatio­n over long distances.

The investment round included $675,000 from the i2E-managed Oklahoma Seed Capital Fund, along with $120,000 from the SeedStep Angels group, also managed by i2E. The seed round also included $550,000 invested by outside angel investors.

“We are so pleased that i2E has led the seed round investment in Digital Six Laboratori­es,” said Steve Montgomery, Digital Six Labs founder and CEO. “We plan to use these funds to grow our sales and marketing efforts, boost our R&D capabiliti­es, and expand our profession­al staff to deliver our cuttingedg­e IoT technology to an eager market while continuing to develop into the future.”

The Oklahoma Seed Capital Fund is a state-appropriat­ed investment fund managed by i2E through the Oklahoma Center for the Advancemen­t of Science and Technology.

The SeedStep Angels group was founded by i2E in 2009 and is now the state’s largest angel investment group with more than 50 members and chapters in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Ardmore and Muskogee.
