DISH Network expands operations

TULSA — DISH Network will bring 250 new jobs to Tulsa as the pay-TV provider expands operations in the city, Gov. Mary Fallin announced Tuesday.

DISH already employs at least 600 at its Tulsa customer care center in south Tulsa.

“Today’s announcement is great news for Tulsa and northeastern Oklahoma,” Fallin said in a statement. “It helps us further diversify our economy and provide new career opportunities for Oklahomans. We appreciate the DISH Network’s investment in Oklahoma and are excited they are bringing 250 new jobs to the state.”

DISH is partnering with the Cherokee Nation and the Tulsa Regional Chamber to educate the local community about the new jobs, which include front-line sales, human resources, management, training and customer retention, among other roles.

DISH is expanding its existing facility at 1950 E 71 St. to accommodate for the positions, for which recruiting is underway.

“DISH’s continued growth in Tulsa and the addition of new lines of service at this facility show that investments made by Tulsans in our city are already paying dividends,” Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum said in a statement. “DISH is a fantastic company, and we look forward to assisting their team here in Tulsa as they work to quickly fill these new positions.”

Mike Neal, Tulsa Regional Chamber president and CEO said the expansion offers “an exciting opportunity for both the company and the Tulsa region.”

“These high-quality jobs are a boon to our economy,” Neal said. “According to a recent labor market study commissioned by the chamber, the region’s workforce is primed to support this type of white-collar job growth.

“Tulsa is on a strong trajectory, and we’re happy to have DISH Network as a part of it.”

Brian Neylon, DISH executive vice president of customer acquisition and retention, said Tulsa was the ideal location for expansion in part because of the access to talent.
