Manhattan Constructi­on Group selects Larry Rooney as president

TULSA — Larry Rooney has been promoted to president of Manhattan Constructi­on Group, whose flagship company is Tulsa-based Manhattan Constructi­on Co.

Representi­ng the fifth generation of the Rooney family to work at Manhattan, he will continue to serve as the regional manager for Manhattan Constructi­on Co. in Oklahoma.

Rooney’s constructi­on experience includes roles in field supervisio­n, project management, estimating and pre-constructi­on and a total revenue portfolio in excess of $1.5 billion. After working in Chicago for Turner Constructi­on Co., Rooney joined the family business in Manhattan’s Houston regional office in 2010.

He holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineerin­g from the University of Notre Dame. He is a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Accredited Profession­al and graduate of Leadership Tulsa Class 51. He serves on the board of the Tulsa Regional Chamber of Commerce and the advisory board of Tulsa’s American Cancer Society.

Other members in the Manhattan Constructi­on Group are Manhattan Road & Bridge Co., Manhattan Pipeline LLC, Manhattan Internatio­nal Constructi­on Company Ltd, Cantera Concrete Co., Spectrum Contractin­g Inc. and Safezone LLC.

Manhattan Constructi­on Group serves the commercial building, civil, pipeline and specialty constructi­on markets through its regional offices in Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas and Washington, D.C. Manhattan also provides constructi­on services internatio­nally in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.

Manhattan Constructi­on Co. announced earlier this year that it is building Globe Life Field, home of the Texas Rangers in Arlington, Texas. The 42,000-seat ballpark, set to be completed in 2020, will cost about $1.1 billion, with $800 million earmarked for constructi­on.
