NOV. 16 AND DEC. 2
Artspace at Untitled, an influential nonprofit art gallery in downtown Oklahoma City, is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a special exhibition and fundraising gala.
In 1995, Laura Warriner purchased a dilapidated warehouse building in downtown OKC that she named Untitled. 1997 marked the space’s first major exhibition, by American sculptor Jesus Bautista Moroles. Artspace at Untitled has since shown the work of notable artists like Kiki Smith, Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns and El Anatsui.
The exhibit “Reclamation Re-Creation” chronicles Untitled’s twodecade status as a community hub for the arts.
An opening reception is planned for 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Artspace at Untitled, 1 NE 3.
A special anniversary gala called “For the Love Of…” is set for 7 p.m. Dec. 2 at the gallery. The event will feature a catered culinary experience by Chef Andrew Black, Prairie Wolf Spirits mixology, music, and live and silent auctions.
Live auction items will include experiences like a fully catered dinner by Chef Black for 18 people, or a smaller dinner at The Pollock House, designed by world-renowned architect Bruce Goff. The silent auction will give attendees the opportunity to bid on rare pieces like DJ Lafon’s large-scale portrait of artist Michi Susan and a sculpture by Mark Brisco.
