Date set for Miss Mustang Pageant

MUSTANG — The Miss Mustang Pageant will be at 6 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Bridge Church Venue on State Highway 152.

The pageant is an official Miss America Organizati­on pageant and will consist of evening gown, interview, onstage question, swimsuit and talent portions.

Tickets for 400 guests will be available, and refreshmen­ts will be served.

Corporate and individual sponsors will receive an area in the program, onstage recognitio­n and more, depending on the level of 501 (c) 3 tax- deductible contributi­on made.

Angela Peterson, of Mustang, recently was named as the new executive director of the Miss Mustang Organizati­on and pageant. She has years of experience as a past etiquette instructor, pageant judge and trainer, modeling agent and model. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Texas Christian University and is a member of the Mustang Chamber of Commerce.

The pageant is open to applicants who live in Canadian County, Grady County or Oklahoma County, ages 17-24 years. The winner will compete in the Miss Oklahoma Pageant in June 2018, which is a part of the Miss America Organizati­on. She also will receive scholarshi­ps and gifts from the Mustang and Oklahoma City community and a crown. Miss Oklahoma is scheduled to perform at the Miss Mustang pageant.

This year also will feature Miss Mustang Stars, ages 3 to 12, who will meet Miss Oklahoma, walk across the stage with the contestant­s and be honored as future leaders of Mustang and Oklahoma.
