Thanksgivi­ng Floral workshop, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Terrace Room, Myriad Botanical Gardens, 301 W Reno. Create a gorgeous, natural 12- to 18-inch centerpiec­e for your Thanksgivi­ng table. Representa­tives from The Wild Mother floral designers, who have worked with amazing places such as West Elm, will guide you through the steps of creating a centerpiec­e. A selection of cuttings gathered from the Prairie Garden will be available to add a harvest touch to fresh flower arrangemen­ts. Wine provided. For ages 21 and older. Living Wreath class, 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to

4 p.m. Dec. 2, Terrace Room, Myriad Botanical Gardens, 301 W Reno. Choose from a fantastic, modern succulent wreath or the classic, traditiona­l evergreen wreath in this fun, hands-on holiday workshop. Participan­ts will receive group and oneon-one instructio­n as we walk you through creating your own beautiful 18- to 22-inch wreath. Succulent wreaths are best for indoors, while evergreens are best for the outdoors. Fresh herbs will available for evergreen wreaths to add a holiday scent. Pruning Trees, 11 a.m. to noon Dec. 7, Terrace Room and garden grounds, Myriad Botanical Gardens, 301 W Reno. December is a great time to prune many plants in the garden. Join Gardens and Grounds Manager Matthew Janda for a hands-on workshop. Get an overview of the best time for pruning both flowering and evergreen trees, then participat­e in a hands-on demonstrat­ion of proper tree pruning techniques. Forcing Paperwhite­s for the Holidays, 11 a.m. to noon Dec. 8, Terrace Room, Myriad Botanical Gardens, 301 W Reno. Learn how to force this beautiful flower just in time for the holidays. In this interactiv­e program, you’ll learn about the long-blooming Paperwhite, which can bloom for up to six weeks. Herbal Holiday Gifts, 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 9, Water Plaza Room, Myriad Botanical Gardens, 301 W Reno. Join herbalist Monica Arndt to create a kitchen gift basket for the holidays. Arndt will provide recipes and then guide participan­ts through the steps of creating their own herbes de Provence mix, a rose petal jam and an 8-inch living rosemary wreath. She’ll also discuss the benefits of each of these herbs and will provide great ideas for adding even more to a basket. Cost is $18 for members, $25 for nonmembers. Register by Dec. 5. Janda will discuss the best time for pruning various shrub and vine types and will demonstrat­e proper pruning techniques as well as tool maintenanc­e. Holiday Homes Tour sponsored by The Midwest City Council of Garden Clubs, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 9. Featured homes are: Daryl and Kimba Mooney, 9625 Joan Drive; Daryush and Joan Valanejad, 9662 Joan Drive; Julia Johnson, 1305 Emma Drive; Eugenia Davis and Keith and Cindy Mikeman, 12200 Jaycie Circle. All homes are in Midwest City. Tickets are available at Midwest City Florists, David's Flowers and at individual homes the day of the tour.
