Thanksgivi­ng travel road map

- FROM STAFF REPORTS

1. Interstate 40 is narrowed to one lane in each direction between State Highway 34 South and E 7th Street near Elk City for resurfacin­g and bridge rehabilita­tion.

2. East- and westbound Interstate 40 lanes are shifted just west of U.S. 177/U.S. 270 near Shawnee for bridge reconstruc­tion.

3. U.S. 69 is narrowed to one lane in each direction at U.S. 266 in Checotah for bridge rehabilita­tion.

4. Southbound U.S. 69 is narrowed to one lane at Wade Watts Avenue in McAlester for interchang­e constructi­on. Drivers also should be alert to new on- and offramp and frontage road configurat­ions in the area.

5. U.S. 69 will be intermitte­ntly narrowed to one lane in each direction between the Indian Nation Turnpike and the U.S. 69B junction in McAlester for a pavement project.

6. State Highway 8 is narrowed to one lane with a temporary signal directing traffic one mile north of State Highway 11 near Burlington for bridge reconstruc­tion.

7. SH 152 is narrowed to one lane with a temporary signal and flaggers directing traffic four miles east of State Highway 6 near Elk City for bridge rehabilita­tion.

8. SH 48 is narrowed to one lane with a temporary signal directing traffic about three miles north of State Highway 22, north of Durant, for bridge rehabilita­tion.

9. SH 109 is closed one mile east of U.S. 271, south of Hugo, for bridge replacemen­t. Drivers must use an alternativ­e route.

10. The SH 17A bridge over Interstate 35 near Wynnewood is closed for bridge rehabilita­tion. Traffic is detoured to State Highway 29 and U.S. 77.

11. U.S. 259 is narrowed to one lane with a temporary signal directing traffic one mile south of Big Cedar for bridge reconstruc­tion.

12. Drivers should be alert to traffic shifts on SH 33 at Cottonwood Creek, just west of U.S. 77 in Guthrie, for bridge reconstruc­tion.

13. SH 32 is narrowed to one lane with a temporary signal directing traffic four miles west of I-35 near Marietta for highway and bridge reconstruc­tion.

14. SH 32 is closed one mile east of U.S. 377 near Kingston for bridge replacemen­t. Traffic is detoured to U.S. 70 and U.S. 377.

15. SH 10 is closed five miles east of the Will Rogers Turnpike at the Spring River near Miami for bridge replacemen­t. Traffic is detoured to SH 137 or SH 125 and U.S. 60.

16. SH 2 is narrowed to one lane with a temporary signal directing traffic about eight miles north of SH 3 near Antlers.

17. U.S. 412 is narrowed to one lane in each direction at the Verdigris River west of Inola for bridge rehabilita­tion.

Turnpikes

18. The Cimarron Turnpike from Interstate 35 to mile marker 2 is down to a single lane in either direction for pavement rehabilita­tion.

19. The Turner Turnpike is under constructi­on from mile marker 202 into Tulsa. Speed limit is reduced and lanes are narrowed.

Oklahoma City metro area

• North- and southbound Interstate 235 is shifted between the I-44 interchang­e and N 36. Motorists should use State Highway 74 (Lake Hefner Parkway), I-44, I-35, I-40 and Lincoln Boulevard when possible as alternate routes and allow additional time while driving in this area. Drivers also can expect the N 50 bridge over I-235 and the southbound I-235 on-ramp from N 50 to be closed.

• SW 3 remains closed at the E.K. Gaylord Boulevard intersecti­on for ongoing OKC Boulevard work.

• Drivers can expect lane shifts, narrowed lanes and flaggers on Lindsey Street between 24th Avenue SW and Berry Road for an ongoing City of Norman project.

Drivers should expect the following lane and ramp closures as part of I-35/Interstate 240 Crossroads interchang­e reconstruc­tion:

• Eastbound I-240 is narrowed to two lanes between Santa Fe Avenue and I-35.The southbound I-35 off-ramp to SE 82 is permanentl­y closed. Drivers should use the I-35 off-ramp to SE 89.

• The eastbound I-240 on-ramp from Shields Boulevard is permanentl­y closed. Drivers should use the on-ramp at Santa Fe Avenue.

• The eastbound I-240 Service Road (SE 74) is narrowed to one lane between Shields Boulevard and SE 82.

The NW 23 bridge over I-44 is narrowed to one lane in each direction. Additional­ly, the following traffic restrictio­ns will be in place:

• Eastbound I-44 offramp to NW 23/N Grand Boulevard traffic will not be able to make a left turn onto the NW 23 bridge.

• Westbound I-44 offramp traffic to NW 23/ NW Grand Boulevard will only be able to turn right onto NW 23 from the ramp.

Tulsa metro area

• The right lane of eastbound I-44 is closed at the I-44/Interstate 244 western split.

• As part of an ongoing bridge replacemen­t and widening project, drivers should use caution as traffic adjusts to the new configurat­ion on eastand westbound I-44 near 145th E Avenue.

• State Highway 11 is closed at Hominy Creek north of Sperry for bridge replacemen­t. Traffic is detoured to State Highway 20, U.S. 75 and State Highway 11.

• Drivers can expect various lane closures on southbound U.S. 169 between 31st Street south and 41st Street south for pavement work and should expect significan­t delays, especially during peak travel times.

• The right lane of southbound 65th W Avenue is closed over U.S. 412/U.S. 64/State Highway 51 for bridge work.

• State Highway 117 is narrowed to one lane in each direction near Hawthorn Street in Sapulpa for bridge rehabilita­tion at Rock Creek. Drivers should plan ahead for extra travel time in this area.

As part of a bridge replacemen­t project, delays can be expected and drivers should plan ahead for extra travel time in this corridor, which is just north of the Keystone Dam:

• The left lanes of eastand westbound U.S. 412/U.S. 64 are closed at the State Highway 151 junction.

• The westbound U.S. 412/U.S. 64 on-ramp from northbound SH 151 and the westbound U.S. 412/U.S. 64 off-ramp to southbound SH 151 are closed.

• During the ongoing ramp closures, drivers should consider an alternate route such as SH 51, State Highway 97 or U.S. 412/U.S. 64.

As part of a bridge rehabilita­tion project, delays can be expected in the following areas:

• The left lane of westbound I-244 is closed at Memorial Drive.

• The right lane of eastbound I-244 is closed at Harvard Avenue and the left lane of eastbound I-244 is closed at Memorial Drive.

• North and southbound Memorial Drive, Yale Avenue and Harvard Avenue are each narrowed to one lane in each direction over I-244. Drivers should plan ahead for extra travel time in this area or seek an alternate route.

• All lanes of Pittsburg Avenue are closed over I-244. Drivers should note the closures listed above at Harvard Avenue and Yale Avenue and plan ahead for extra travel time during this closure.

As part of a project at the northeast corner of the Inner Dispersal Loop, delays can be expected and drivers should follow all marked detour signs or seek an alternate route:

• The southbound U.S. 75 off-ramp to eastbound I-244 and 1st Street is closed.

• The westbound I-244 off-ramp to 1st Street is narrowed to one lane.

• The northbound U.S. 75 on-ramp from 1st Street is closed.

• The left lane of northbound U.S. 75 is narrowed at the I-244 junction.

As part of a bridge rehabilita­tion project, the following ramps are closed at the southeast corner of the Inner Dispersal Loop:

• The southbound U.S. 75 off-ramp to southbound U.S. 75/westbound U.S. 64/SH 51 is closed; use I-244 on the north and west legs of the Inner Dispersal Loop as a detour.

• The Cincinnati Avenue bridge over U.S. 75/U.S. 64/SH 51 is closed.
