Families invited to visit autism-friendly Santa

- FROM STAFF REPORTS

The Oklahoma City ACI Learning Center will be offering free photos with Santa in an autism-friendly environment from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 9.

“All kids deserve a chance to tell Santa what they want for Christmas, and we’re excited to offer this free opportunity for families of children with autism spectrum disorders, challenging behaviors and other disabilities who find the typical mall Santa experience upsetting,” said Nancy Champlin, founder of ACI Learning Centers.

The Santa for this event has been trained in working with children with disorders. Siblings also are welcome to visit with Santa.

In addition to Santa, families can enjoy apple cider, gluten-free cookies and crafts at the center, 401 E Memorial Road, Suite 700.

Parents are asked to preregister for the event by going to https://www.acilearningcenters.com/santa-proof-page/ and selecting the Oklahoma City registration link.

ACI Learning Centers is a behavioral consulting company providing applied behavior analysis with an emphasis on verbal behavior for children with autism spectrum disorders, language delays, challenging behaviors and other developmental disabilities.
