Two men have died in separate Oklahoma crashes, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.
Brian D. Akins, 45, of Maysville
Akins died at the scene of an accident about 10:25 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 81 about 2.5 miles south of Pocasset in Grady County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.
Akins was driving a tractor-trailer south on U.S. 81 when the rear dual tires on the driver’s side of a pickup driven north by Christopher D. Flood, 29, of Ellijay, Georgia, came off and crossed into the southbound lanes, the patrol reports.
Akins swerved to avoid the tires and the tractor-trailer overturned. Akins, who wore his seat belt, was partially ejected and pinned by the tractortrailer.
Flood and his passenger, Thomas D. Bomgardner, 57, of Williston, North Dakota, were not injured. Flood and Bomgardner wore seat belts, the patrol reports.
