Now's the time for Edmond nonprofits to apply for aid

EDMOND — The City of Edmond’s Community Agency Review Commission (CARC) is now accepting applicatio­ns from eligible nonprofits for 2018 funding assistance.

The commission annually reviews applicatio­ns from Edmond agencies providing valuable services to the community.

“The role of the CARC is extremely valuable to our community,” Mayor Charles Lamb said. “This funding truly makes a difference for many residents through the work done by the recipient agencies.”

To be eligible for funding considerat­ion, an agency must be directly engaged in charitable, educationa­l, health, social services, community enrichment or related activities that provide a direct and distinct benefit to the city and its residents.

Additional­ly, an agency must be located within the Edmond city limits, and primarily serve people residing in Edmond. To determine whether your location is in the Edmond city limits, go to http://edmondok.com/ doiliveine­dmond.

The applicatio­n is available at http:// edmondok.com/carc and must be submitted by 5 p.m. Dec. 29 for considerat­ion.

The CARC was created by the Edmond City Council and signed into ordinance in May 1984. In 2017, $916,495 in total funding was approved for local agencies.
