Now's the time for Edmond nonprofits to apply for aid
EDMOND — The City of Edmond’s Community Agency Review Commission (CARC) is now accepting applications from eligible nonprofits for 2018 funding assistance.
The commission annually reviews applications from Edmond agencies providing valuable services to the community.
“The role of the CARC is extremely valuable to our community,” Mayor Charles Lamb said. “This funding truly makes a difference for many residents through the work done by the recipient agencies.”
To be eligible for funding consideration, an agency must be directly engaged in charitable, educational, health, social services, community enrichment or related activities that provide a direct and distinct benefit to the city and its residents.
Additionally, an agency must be located within the Edmond city limits, and primarily serve people residing in Edmond. To determine whether your location is in the Edmond city limits, go to http://edmondok.com/ doiliveinedmond.
The application is available at http:// edmondok.com/carc and must be submitted by 5 p.m. Dec. 29 for consideration.
The CARC was created by the Edmond City Council and signed into ordinance in May 1984. In 2017, $916,495 in total funding was approved for local agencies.
