UCO’s ‘Holly Jolly Jammin’ Revue’ continues holiday tradition
The University of Central Oklahoma’s School of Music Musical Theatre division will present its fun-filled annual holiday revue, “Holly Jolly Jammin’ “at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 7-9, at 5 p.m. Dec. 10 and at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14-16 at the UCO Jazz Lab, 100 E Fifth St. in Edmond.
For the past 16 years, the UCO School of Music has produced successful holiday music revues at the Jazz Lab, building a highly anticipated and beloved tradition for the community. “Holly Jolly Jammin’” promotes the holiday spirit of giving and joy through modern twists on classic Christmas carols, incorporating a large cast of students.
“Holly Jolly Jammin’ captures everything you love about the holiday season,” said Kassie Carroll, a former UCO musical theater student and director of the show. “You’ll laugh, you’ll swoon, and you may even tear up as some of the classics remind you of holidays past. This show has music for every family, and you’ll be lead on a journey, with hope for a better tomorrow.”
Alongside Carroll’s directing, Amy Reynolds Reed will provide choreography.
“Every year we have a new title and a specific theme, but the show is always joyous and the perfect way to get into the holiday season,” said Greg White, professor of musical theater at UCO. “I’m also thrilled to have Kassie back to direct this show. She is so creative and passionate, so I’m certain this is going to be a fantastic year.”
The holiday show tends to sell out every season, so patrons are encouraged to get their tickets as soon as possible. To purchase tickets for this event, go to www.ucojazzlab.com/ events. For a complete listing of UCO College of Fine Arts and Design events and performances, go to cfad. uco.edu.
