Bills CB moving on from Gronkowski hit

-

Buffalo Bills rookie cornerback Tre'Davious White says he's willing to forgive and forget Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski for blindsiding him in the back of the head during Buffalo's loss to New England three weeks ago.

Without repeating the accusations he made against Gronkowski following the hit, White referred to his reaction as being "childish."

White says he's over it and adds the only payback he's seeking is helping the Bills beat the Patriots in their rematch at New England on Sunday.

White had called Gronkowski a "dirty player," and referred to the NFL's decision to suspend the tight end for one game as being "a joke."

White intercepted Tom Brady's pass and had already been touched down along the Patriots sideline, when Gronkowski led with his forearm and struck him in the back of the helmet in the fourth quarter of New England's 23-3 win.

Elliott mum about return to lineup

Dallas running back Ezekiel Elliott doesn't want to talk about his six weeks away from the Cowboys now that he's back from a suspension over domestic violence allegations.

The star running back abruptly ended his first session with reporters after 70 seconds Wednesday. Elliott said he wouldn't address questions about a hiatus spent mostly in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, but was asked anyway. After five questions on that topic, Elliott said, "All right, I'm done."

The Cowboys went 3-3 without last year's NFL rushing leader, losing the first three before the current three-game winning streak that has kept them alive in the NFC wild-card race. Dallas must win its final two games, starting Sunday at home against Seattle, and get help from several teams.

Seahawks LB regrets Twitter statements

Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner expressed regret Wednesday for taking to social media to express frustration with comments made by teammate Earl Thomas after Seattle's blowout loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

Wagner played in the 42-7 loss Sunday despite being limited by a hamstring injury that's been bothering him for nearly two months. Wagner was clearly not at his normal level and Thomas questioned after the game whether Wagner should have been playing in the first place.

Wagner sent two tweets that were later deleted. In one, he told Thomas to keep his name out of his mouth and to "stop being jealous" of other people's success.

Wagner said Wednesday: "There was a better way of going about the situation."

Bucs place five players on IR

Tampa Bay rookie tight end O.J. Howard and four other players have been placed on injured reserve and will miss the final two games of the season for the Buccaneers.

Howard, a first-round draft pick out of Alabama, started 14 games and finished with 26 receptions for 435 yards and six touchdowns.

He injured an ankle scoring on a 30-yard reception during last Monday's 24-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

The injury-depleted Bucs (4-10) also placed rookie safety Justin Evans (ankle), linebacker Adarius Glanton (broken leg), cornerback Vernon Hargreaves (hamstring) and guard J.R. Sweezy (lower leg) on IR on Wednesday.

Bengals offense has disappeared

An offense featuring Andy Dalton and A.J. Green can barely get a first down these days, leaving the Bengals on track to finish as worst in the NFL.

Nobody knows how to get more out of it in the final two games.

The Bengals (5-9) managed only one first down and 42 total yards in the first half of a 34-7 loss at Minnesota on Sunday. Dalton's interception was returned for a touchdown as the Vikings surged ahead 24-0.

It wasn't an anomaly. Since pulling ahead of the Steelers 17-0 in a Monday night game that turned into a 23-20 loss, Cincinnati's offense has evaporated.

The Bengals have managed only two touchdowns and a field goal in the past 10 quarters, unable to
