On The Border helps Sharing Tree

- FROM STAFF REPORTS

On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina will present a $10,000 check to Sharing Tree on Friday on behalf of its Oklahoma City restaurants.

“The Sharing Tree has been making a tremendous difference to Oklahoma City families in need for many years,” said Jerry Ammon, the area director for the five restaurants. “Supporting their efforts during the holiday season was simply the right thing to do, and we’re deeply moved by the generosity of our On The Border guests.”

The Sharing Tree and its affiliated programs provide access to clothing, shoes, school uniforms, bedding, and other household goods to those living in poverty, recovering from disasters, or facing other challenges to daily life.

Each of The Sharing Tree’s programs works as a no-cost shopping experience for families or individuals, allowing them to obtain necessary items that can improve day-to-day living or circumstances for themselves or their children.

In 2017, Sharing Tree programs benefited over 5,000 OKC citizens.

The five On The Border restaurants in the metro area participated in a monthlong fundraiser that invited guests to make a $5 donation in exchange for a $5-off coupon that could be applied on a future visit. The check will be presented at the On The Border that raised the most money during the drive, at 3233 S Broadway in Edmond.
