CityRep again serving up ‘Greater Tuna’ by popular demand

-

Due to popular demand, Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre is bringing back the uproarious two-man comedy “Greater Tuna” in spring 2018.

CityRep founding artistic director Donald Jordan and CityRep co-founder Jonathan Beck Reed will reprise their roles in the quickchange tour de force, bringing to life an entire town of quirky small-town Texas denizens.

The award-winning nonprofit regional theater will present “Greater Tuna” for a four-week run from March 15 through April 8 in the Freede Little Theatre at Civic Center Music Hall, 201 N Walker.

A 1980s off-Broadway hit that turned the mythical Tuna, Texas, into a must-see destination for theatergoers, “Greater Tuna” was written by Bartlesville native Joe Sears, Jaston Williams and Ed Howard.

In order to present “Greater Tuna,” CityRep’s previously announced production of “Tick, Tick ... Boom!” has been postponed for a future season, according to the news release.

Longtime CityRep Affiliated Artist Steve Emerson will direct “Greater Tuna.”

Tickets for “Greater Tuna” are $8 for students, teachers and Military Personnel (with ID), $25 (groups of eight or more), $35 (matinees) and $40 (evening performances) and may be purchased by calling the Civic Center Box Office at 297-2264 or online at www.cityrep.com.
